BSOW: A Garnet in the Bronx

“You can take the girl out of the city but you can’t take the city out of the girl” is this week’s Best Scoop’s motto. She finds herself going back to her roots sometimes too. She’s discovered the fine art of stopping time.  She struggles with self-acceptance (don’t we all?) and the trials of being a woman. She’s on an never-ending quest for stillness.

She is also a fellow writer I’ve met through Write On Edge (formerly The Red Dress Club) and this is one of my favorites. You really should read it.

Today’s Best Scoop of the Week has traveled halfway across the country just to blog about it. Please welcome Melanie of Bronx 2 Boulder!

This week, I asked Melanie “If you could be a gemstone, which one would it be and why?”

If I could be a gemstone I would be a garnet.  This gemstone represents passion of which I have a lot of.  It shows in my temperament, in the way I defend the causes I believe in and in the way I respond to those things/situations I object to (pretty strongly not to mention loudly).  It also shows through my love of sports and the love I have for my family.

AND? Did you know that TODAY IS HER BIRTHDAY?!? That’s right!! So make sure you stop by and wish her a happy day too.

She’s on Facebook and twitter (@melanieb120), so you can wish her a happy day there too!!

What are you waiting for?! Go check her out.

By the way, I am looking for more blogs to feature as The Best Scoop of the Week. Signing up is so easy too! Just click here and follow the instructions on the page. You can also Contact Me for more information. This blog wants YOUR POOP to feature here. Sign up today!
