We’re having another Christmas this weekend. My mom’s entire “local” family is coming down for our annual get together. I am so excited. My mom has graciously decided to host it at her huge house, but since I am the coordinator, I feel it is my duty to supply the good stuff. Everyone is bringing something, but this recipe from Betty Crocker keeps catching my eye and making me drool…
I am totally looking at serving some up at the Christmas gathering–well, for the kiddos at least. My aunt makes a mean mudslide I’m hoping she’ll offer up too.
So, here’s what you need to know:
Prep Time: 5 min Total Time: 15 min Servings: 4-5
Ingredients:
Cocoa
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1/2 c brown sugar
- 1 pint cookie dough ice cream
- 5 c water
Topping
- Whipped Cream
- Mini chocolate chips
- 1 c Cookie Crisp cereal
Directions:
1. In a 3-qt. saucepan or large pot, whisk together butter, brown sugar, and ice cream over medium-high heat until melted. Add the water; cook and stir mixture until steaming.
2. Serve in mugs, topped with whipped cream, mini chocolate chips, and cookie crisp cereal.
Man, I can’t wait to try it out!!
What’s your favorite recipe from the family gathering?
Oh my gosh that looks amazing! I say you serve it to the kids… then make the recipe “Irish” (heh) for the adults 😉
ohhh thats a good idea. A little Kahlua, and a little Irish and yummy sweet.
–ANYTHING w/ brown sugar is BETTER. Ooooo, looks gooood.
Definitely!!
Holy Cow! That looks super yum!!!! I think I’ll be over too. 🙂
YAY!! We’d be glad to have ya!
My mom’s sugar cookies for some reason are the best ever.
Simple recipe but hers?
There is like magic in that dough.
my grandmother had that kind of magic too. I sure miss it.
